Biography

Matthew became a professional performer in 1990 as vocalist and guitarist with UK indie rock band, Ventral. Their sound was described in one review as "...dentist drill guitars [and] belligerent drums...like Therapy with Mark from The Levellers on vocals...". A particularly explosive live performance led another reviewer to write that "...as soon as Ventral touched their guitars, a hurricane seemed to blow up...". The band went on to release an album, 'Strap Atom', which sold several thousand copies in Europe and Asia.
